Waitangi recount
“Mummy I’m hungry!” “Mummy I need to go toilet!” “Mummy look at me!” “MUMMY MUMMY MUMMY!” That is all I could hear. I was lying in bed listening to the nightmare I was about to walk straight into. I knew it wouldn’t be a very Waitangi ish, Waitangi day! Sage, Asha, and River were all trying to get the most attention from Mum. I had to put a pillow over my head. Finally I got out of bed. Dad was watching something random on the chromebook, and the littleys (that is what we call Sage Asha and River) were fighting over who was going to be the baby in the game Mums and Dads. Mum decided to ditch the kids and go and do some gardening. It was really hot! I wanted to go for a swim. We had lost the pool key (We put a padlock on the pool so the littleys wouldn’t jump in the pool and drown) so I decided I would do some baking with Asha and River. They were excited! We decided to make lamingtons. We made half the recipe then split the mixture. We made half gluten free and half gluten. When we put the cakes into the hot oven I made the thick chocolate icing. While I was waiting for the cakes to bake, I made a big lunch. After our yummy lunch we took the cakes out of the oven, cut them and iced then. They looked bad. Once we put the coconut on, they looked okay. I took a giant bite out of one and MAN they were delicious! They were almost as nice as sushi (not quite). I skyped Dad and I played my song on the guitar that me, Dulcie and my music teacher made up on Monday. Dad had to go cook the giant trout that he caught. We put our helmets on and got our bikes. Mum said I had to practice my riding for the weetbix tryathlon so we were going to ride up the long gravel road, to get to Pete & Claires. I got dust in my eyes. And up my nose. When we got there the dogs barked at us (they always do that). We went inside and had a big drink water, we were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo thirsty. While we were there, me and sage climbed a tree. I climbed to the top. I went in the car on the way home. We had to zoom home or Mum’s potato bake would burn. For dinner we had a DELICIOUS barbecue. I had a whole piece of steak, a sausage, zucchini, and a giant spoonful of potato bake. After dinner I ran around crazily and chased Lockie. I ate some grapes then calmed down. I had to tidy up the toy room and shut the front gate. When it was time for bed, I went into my room and played guitar instead. By then I was so tired I fell asleep immediately. In the end it was an amazing day.
